Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Wash and clean the nectarines and cut them into pieces.
Mix almonds, flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, salt and vanilla in a bowl. Quickly stir in apple puree and vegetable oil until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Pour into the prepared mold and smooth out.
Press the nectarine pieces into the dough, sprinkle with 1-2 tablespoons of sugar and the flaked almonds.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
Test the cake for doneness with a chopstick.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool on a cooling rack.
Then let it cool completely.
Dust with a little powdered sugar before serving.
Instead of ground almonds, you can also bake the cake with other ground nuts, such as hazelnuts or walnuts. By the way, freshly ground nuts always taste best.
